Hand Baggage- Liquid Restrictions
Restrictions on Liquids in Hand Luggage effective as of January 1, 2010 at International FlightsNew rules to protect you against the new threat of liquid explosives are to be adopted.The new rules will be applied at all Turkish airports for international flights effective from January 1, 2010. The permitted amount of liquids, aerosols and gels in hand luggage will be restricted according to the new rules.
You can only take liquids, aerosols and gels in containers of no more than 100 milliliters.These containers must be carried in a transparent plactic bag.Volume of this resealable plastic bag must not be more than 1 litre per passenger.Containers larger than 100ml (excluding essential medicines) will not be allowed through the security point even if they are only part full.
Water and other dirinks, soups, syrups, creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, sprays, gels including hair and shower gels, contents of pressurized containers including shaving foam deodorants, liquid-solid mixtures, mascara and only other item of similar consistency.
Baby food for use during trip, Medicines for use during tripYou may be asked for proof that they are needed or you may be asked to taste the content.
You can still carry liquids in your check-in bag. New rules only affect hand luggage.
All tax-free liquids purchased at the airport duty-free shops located beyond the passport control or on board airlines, should be within the shopping limits set by the customs laws of the Republic of Turkey or the country of your destination.You can take liquids purchased at duty free shops to the aircraft as cabin baggage only
- If these liquids have been placed in a special scaled plastic bag with the receipt.
- If the seal on the bag has not been broken.
- If these liquids were purchased on the day of the flight.
